REPETITION – the  ONE simple strategy you need to build confidence.

Confidence building repetition

Again.

And again, and again, and again.

That’s it right there.

THE one strategy you can use any time, any where for anything to build confidence now and forever.

Repetition.

It is THE one strategy you need to build confidence – every time.

In fact, repetition is the gold standard when it comes to building confidence.

👉IF👈 it’s done the right way.

Because repeating behaviors over and over again with no strategy and no stretch is, well, stupid.

👆That only stings if it’s true for you.

🎁A great way to soothe that sting is to TAKE GREAT CARE OF  YOURSELF! Get into the habit – the repetition – of self-care. It is absolutely critical to your sense of selfe. So critical that I want to share with you 9 of the BEST self-care products I know to help boost your self-confidence.

Strategy and Stretch In Confidence Building Repetition

Confidence building repetition means you’re going to be committed to doing, experimenting, tinkering, refining and mastering whatever it is you’re doing.

It does NOT matter what ‘it’ is.

Which is, of course, the beauty of examined, studied, deliberate, intentional repetition.

It’s the Swiss Army Knife of confidence because of its universal appeal, ease of use and unilateral availability.

In that Swiss Army Knife of confidence building repetition, you will find:

  1. Time Management

If you say you’re too busy to make time for something you want to improve on, move immediately to #2.

  1. Prioritization

Where are you losing your time? If you are not finding, creating and spending time on the thing you want to improve on, it is not a priority for you right now, so you might want to check out #3.

  1. Commitment

This is a demonstration of character, plain and simple. Commitment encompasses self-awareness of what you want to improve, willingness to make the necessary changes to make the improvement and the focus (discipline) to see it through (do the thing). Without this, there is no #4.

  1. Accountability

This goes back to #1, 2, and 3

Confidence building repetition does not exist without these because you will need to apply each to the strategy and stretch you bring to whatever repetitive action you’ve decided on.

I recently overcame a huge, 13-year confidence deficit regarding video and photography.

In less than 2 months, I overcame more than a decade of fear.

This is how I did it.

Goal:

Be confident and comfortable on camera.

Strategy:

Commit to creating and capitalizing on opportunities to go on camera. Vary as needed, rinse and repeat – every day for 60 days with the option to renew (I made myself a contract).

Stretch:

Requirement to experiment with different formats, platforms, lengths, environments, audiences, technologies, techniques – and it all has to be public.

Caveats:

  • I will go on camera – video, selfies, stills – every day.
  • I will not ask for nor will I seek external approval or permission.
  • I will not time cushion (creating gaps between decision and implementation).

Make no mistake – this was a huge, terrifying, vulnerable, personal thing.

It was haaaaaard.

Until it wasn’t.

And one of the most surprising things was how quickly that happened.

What’s your success story using repetition to build confidence?

What would you like it to be?
