A former journalist turned marketer and coach, I’ve written content for businesses, private clients, news outlets, videos, podcasts, livestreams, and social causes.
From subject lines to 8K-sku service catalogs, I’ve written it.
Audits, seasonal and custom landing pages, targeted mail marketing, storyboards, articles, blogs, cheat-sheets, video scriptwriting, processes, presentations, listicles, resumes, drive-by shootings, second chances, corporate anniversaries, communications challenges and more.
These days, I write primarily about about work issues, career change, reaching your goals, success, mindset, and more.
Writing for news and current events
I was a reporter and editor at The Palm Beach Post, The Montgomery Advertiser and The Alabama Journal before I left print journalism to work online at startup SportsLine USA, Inc (now CBS Sports).
To be sure, it was a long time ago, but I include these pieces because they were change-agents in my career and my life.
- ‘A Special Place‘ was part of a landmark decision that capped eminent domain rights for a large university. This piece reinforced my belief that politicians who serve themselves at the expense of their community and constituents should have no influence on public policy.
- ‘Second Chance’ (linked above) showed me more ways to get involved with my community both as a reporter and a volunteer.
- ‘Hate: A House Divided‘ reinforced my belief in – and my commitment to – diversity, inclusion and tolerance.
- The murder of ‘Tabitha Ross’ (linked above) gave me a better understanding of the responsibility of journalism to the greater community.
